And this time I do mean the holiday season!! Now usually, when I get into the holiday season, I push Thanksgiving out of my mind and move straight onto the Christmas movies... this year is no exception!
It all began about two weeks ago with Chris in Walmart. We wandered about the Christmas tree section... but my Christmas fever had not begun, mostly because of one Santa hat. It was heavy so I was intrigued and put it on my head. I pushed the button on the side and the hat began to sing and dance with such enthusiasm that I got whipped in the eye with a bell on the point of the hat. That ruined my Christmas joy...
But then, last night at my sister's, I had to hold myself back from watching Love Actually, one of my favorite Christmas movies. I decided I would not watch my first Christmas movie of the season alone, baby sitting a sleeping Jack, while my sister was out watching Harry Potter (which was excellent).
Tonight however, I could not escape Christmas. Elf, a movie I never appreciated until now, came onto USA and I could not resist the pull of Christmas joy. So I got right into it, taking a Facebook quiz which decided my soul's Christmas song is Jingle Bells. I can't wait to get home for Thanksgiving where I will have a plethora of movies to watch.
But onto Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1. It was the best Harry Potter movie to date. I loved it, they stuck right to the books and ignored those plots holes they created for themselves in the last couple movies. I can't wait to see it again with Kevin!!

It's that time of year again...
No, I don't mean the holiday season (although we're almost getting there), I'm talking about the time of year when we talk about slavery in my history class. It happens every year, in every history class. There is something refreshing about American slavery though.
Americans will have you all believe that slavery ended with Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, but I would like to argue otherwise. Is working for someone not slavery? I'd like to point out, that if you have a "boss" you are enslaved.
Sure, traditional African slaves did not get paid for their work, and had to live in terrible conditions and got whipped and things; but they had a place to live and were given food, which is much more than a lot of people have today. What more could you ask for? It's nice to say you are "free" and whatever, but freedom isn't all it's cracked up to be. People today work to make money to buy food and housing- so how is that any different? Especially when we look at the not so distant past in the United States of industrialization and the massive influx of European immigrants.
There were some immigrants who made it all work for them and were very successful, but the majority worked in factories being paid hardly anything and living in poverty. And they had a good chance of getting limps cut off in one of those sketchy machines they worked with. I, personally, would rather be whipped that have my hand taken off by a dirty, probably rather blunt, machine- especially since doctors were not very good back then. That's just me though.
I truly do sympathize with slaves. I will eventually become one of them. I will probably graduate college and go on to work for some white man who will punish me if I do something wrong. Sure he probably won't whip me, but he could fire me. Which is worse- being whipped, or losing your livelihood? I just wonder if being ginger puts me at risk for racial discrimination...

So interesting (yet bleak) thought today...
In my Contemporary Biology class we are assigned to read certain chapters out of Matt Ridley's book Genome:The Autobiography of a Species in 23 Chapters. The book is extremely interesting and informative, I suggest it to anyone who wants to know more about biology in a more relaxed way. Some of Ridley's chapters, however, are just a bummer. On Monday we were assigned to read the chapter entitled "Death."
In short, the chapter- no the entire book- is about death, everybody dies and our cells are constantly dying. I am becoming more of the mind that thinks- "why worry about it?" Why worry about what is going to kill us? It could be a car, it could be a disease, it could be anything. People worry and worry about how and when they are going to die, which is ridiculous. When people close to you die, it is devastating- I get that. It happens.
I'm not trying to be unsympathetic. Death is scary. The stress of worry about diseases and things is just too much to bear. I'm trying to say that people should just worry about what they are doing in the present time, not what will happen in the future. Don't nit pick you're health and say: What cancer does this food product cause? Nit pick your health and say: Will this make me feel good?
On that note, I will never be a scientist. It is far to much to think about. Especially on the cellular level. It ruins all the mystery.

My favorite kind of shopping...
I have never had a lot of money to shop with. I can't really afford nice clothes (or at least not to buy a lot of clothes all at once). One thing I can go on shopping sprees for is cards. Birthday cards, post cards, "just thinking about you" cards- I love them. I could spend hours in the card section at CVS, or the grocery store or the Hallmark store. I absolutely love it. Today, I got to partake in my favorite activity double. One, because it is my brother's birthday today- so I got him a card; two, because it is Kevin and my anniversary next Wednesday. I am cheap and currently unemployed (pretty much) so I can't afford to buy real gifts for people, so my go-to is cards.
A card says more than a gift can, it says- see this adorable kitten on the front? it reminds me of you. Or see how funny I am, because I picked out this mass-produced Hallmark card from the "Happy Birthday: Funny" section at CVS? That's how funny I am, because I had the sense to pick it up. One of my favorite inventions (possibly the only piece of technology I am thankful for) is the singing cards. They fit so many different types of people, and always bring a smile.
Post cards however, are my absolute favorite kind of card. I love getting postcards, I love sending postcards, but most of all- I love sending myself postcards. Today, one of my professors returned from Japan and brought everyone in my class a post card. It was sweet and said to us all "I wish you were here" and any good post card does. It really made me respect my professor. Kevin sent me a postcard once, it was lovely.

So my advice, don't buy people expensive gifts, definitely not technology that will undoubtedly fail them, because who wants a gift that will break? Buying someone something perishable is like saying "I care about you... to a certain point." A card is something someone can keep and open and remember "this person cares enough about me to remember those important things in life." Thank you Hallmark.

I should have been Amish.
So, I've had a series of events that make me believe I was always supposed to belong to an Amish community, or in the 19th century. Seemingly, technology either hates me, or God is smiting me for my sins by destroying all my most expensive belongings.
When I was in Worcester (Wooostah) my camera broke. I loved my camera, it is a Nikon Coolpix (pink) and I got it as a gift for my Christmas last year (Santa was good to me). I carried it with my every where and took great joy in snapping candid pictures of people; these pictures will one day serve as a photo journal of my life. But that journal will abruptly end once archeologists find my ruins, leading historians to believe I died a quick and sudden death at a youthful 18 years of age. This is because my camera broke, and it didn't just break- it spontaneously combusted- I didn't even do anything to it, I just gave it too much love I guess. Amish people, as many of you well know, are a pious bunch who don't use modern technology. If I were Amish, I would never have had a camera to begin with and therefore would have spend my time writing my memoirs in a novel type format, rather than using a fancy digital camera with the tendency to spontaneously combust.
My car is a much more worrying piece of technology that is a magnet for criminal activity and is starting to fall appart at it's meager age of 12. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my car possibly more than I loved my camera. It's a cute '98 VW Jetta, and I pimped it out with two German flags that are like socks covering my side mirrors. Unfortunately, it got broken into this week. It no longer has a radio (adding to it's ghettofabulous persona) and the window was completely smashed in the process. My front passenger window lost it's ability to move up from the down position quite a while ago BUT after the new glass was installed in my driver side window, the mechanic informed me, in broken English, that the window could not be put down anymore (for fear that it would not come back up). I don't know why the criminal who stole my radio so maliciously did not decide to steal the whole car. It would have relieved me of a burden that Amish will never have to experience.
I am not computer savy. I can use a computer, but somehow, no matter how good the computer, it always works a little bit slower for me. Maybe it's just my impatient personality, but honestly, computers are not my forte. Ask Kevin, Skype just does not work for me. More than my inability to work skype- my internet is SO SLOW, and it doesn't even matter where I am getting the wireless internet from, it is just always slow! I think I need to take a computer course or something... OR I could be AMISH and never have this burden my mind again!!
So my solution: I am going to drop out of University and become Amish. I think Kevin and I would enjoy the quaint Amish life, producing hand crafted rocking chairs and wasting away on our porch swipping tea and reading the bible. He didn't seem really enthusiastic about the idea when I first introduced it, but I think in time it will grow on him, because- let's be honest- who doesn't want to travel back in time and produce offspring with extra fingers?

Girls Night (all day long)
So today I woke up and did my laundry and homework. Then I went to my sister's for a marathon event of chick flicks and general girly-ness.
We watched the entire first season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It was pretty exciting/extremely entertaining. Now I know, I should be ashamed, but to be honest- sometimes I need a little mindless television. Who's to say that we need to follow a plot and figure out things. I don't want to be confused and thoughtful when I watch television (like when I watched Lost- I was "lost" hah). We just hung out talking about the lives of the Kardashians. It was nice.
Then for the main event- Twilight Saga: New Moon. It was awesome. I mean, the movies are terrible- the acting absolutely awful. However, they feature a strong ginger villain- Victoria. Her red hair really touches to my inner soul. And I think subconsciously- I watch it for the gingerness of it all. Plus all the characters are super pale, something I can really relate to. And sure, instead of sparkling in the sun I fry like a piece of bacon, but I'd light to think my pale skin is extremely irresistible like Edward Cullen. And it probably is, but I won't get too full of myself. I think Twilight does a good job of catering to the ginger audience (plus the gigantic teenage demographic).
I cannot, however, give an excuse for whats-her-face (butterface) who plays Bella. She is terrible, she can't speak, she sounds like she's constipated the entire movie. Sure maybe she's supposed to show her longing for Edwards body- but to be honest- he is not very attractive. In fact, their relationship is just a domestic violence issue that is too horrendous to describe- so they call it "love."
Lucky for Kevin, my vampire-esk pale skin does not come along with the desire to kill and eat him. Also, did you know Katherine Heigl is the Meg Ryan of our generation?

Just sitting here eating BlueBell
So today was a Monday. And by a Monday, I mean a Monday. I slept in, went to class, took a math test. My last class starts at 5:25 at night, which is pretty late in my opinion. I walk up to the science building with the endlessly long name I can never remember. A ray of sunshine: I see one of my classmates exiting the building to leave. "Did I miss class?" I ask myself, and look at my clock. Nope. "Is it cancelled??!!!" My heart starts pounding as I walk up to the building in excitement. Alas, my classmate informs me that she doesn't feel like going to class and if I could talk notes for her, that would be really great. Lame. If only I were less driven and more lazy, I would have never got up from my nap to go to class in the first place.
So I sit through over an hour of biology. On Wednesdays, I really enjoy this class- but on Mondays, it is close to torture. I exit the class and practically sprint out of the building, trying to distance myself quickly from my source of boredom. I meet up with Chris and Blake, they've already eaten, but Chris has a genius idea. We both buy a pint of ice cream. Now he wolfed his down, I don't blame him, but I saved mine for this very moment when I could safely engorge myself in the safety and seclusion of my room. Also, we went to the gym, so I don't feel that bad.
Anyway, lately I haven't had any ginger happenings. Except my BFF Mark informs me that in the next Spiderman movie they are getting rid of that horrible blonde woman and replacing her with a real redhead (the one from Easy A). I'm pretty excited about it, even though I don't particularly like the Spiderman movies. However, I have noticed that it is simply impossible to dye a non-redhead's hair red. It always just looks a little off. Perhaps that is why I don't like the Spiderman movies. It's not the bad acting, or the stupid plot structure, it's the fact that the woman who plays Mary Jane has a terrible dye job, and subconsciously- it offends me.
I think I will put it out of my mind, lest I upset myself again, and enjoy my ice cream in peace.

Wonderful Plans and Realizations
So today was a day like any other, only I went to my sister's to receive wonderful news. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I comes out during Thanksgiving Break, November 21st to be exact. This is great news, because this means my sister and I can double date to the movie- but more importantly, we can dress up!!!
So Kirsty is going to be Winky the House-Elf. Matt is (grudgingly) going to be Creature the House-Elf. I am going to be Dobby The House-Elf and Kevin is going to be Griphook. I am so excited!!!! We watched the trailer at my sisters and I almost pissed myself. And whilst this seems nerdy- many of you would probably like to have to gall to admit- you love Harry Potter. I say- embrace it. Be ballsy and just admit that Harry Potter is absolutely excellent. I've done it, and it feels good.
To anyone who wants to join our mismatched group of ecstatic McCarthy women and unhappy men (i.e. Matt and Kevin)- feel free to give me a call. Also, if anyone knows where to get that costume off of Yes Man, let me know- it would be perfect :D

A Romantic Weekend in Worcester/Boston
So this weekend I went to visit my boyfriend, Kevin, at his school in Worcester. I am going to escape my ginger obsession for one post to tell you about my romantic venture.
On Thursday I arrived in Boston twenty minutes late and ended up missing my train. I finally arrived in Worcester (Woostah) at like five in the afternoon. Kevin picked me up and we went to his dorm to meet his lovely new friends. It was nice. He gave me a campus tour. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. After leaving humid humid humid Austin, Texas it was *wicked* refreshing to be in a place where there is a breeze and a nice temperature. Thursday was uneventful, but it was great to see Kevin again.
Friday Kevin had class and I did homework reclusively in his dorm room. Kevin lives on an all guys floor by the way so I had to walk ALL the way down from the fourth floor to the second floor to use a bathroom, it was lame- but whatever. Friday night we hung around campus, smoked Kevin's hookah and went to a kinda party but didn't stay long. We hung out on the "rape" stairs for a while because it was so nice out. There is a really high percentage of rape on Worcester Polytechnic Institute's campus, so they built stairs that are designed for women to be able to run up them quickly, leaving rapists in the dust :).
Saturday we slept in and then went into Boston for the day. We strolled around Boston Commons and the Public Garden. They were really nice. In Boston they have really nice grass, unlike Texas. We wandered over to Quincy Market and I had a lobster sandwich, which was delicious, and I made Kevin FINALLY buy me a postcard, which I will be expecting in the mail ASAP. The trains in Boston are retarded so we wandered around until about 11 and then made our way over to Logan Airport to wait until 4:30 AM Sunday morning so I could get on my flight. Kevin and I were both getting kind of loopy but it was nice to spend time together.
We finally parted ways on Sunday. I walked past security and got "randomly" searched where they took away my shaving cream, which was neither liquid nor in an aerosol can but left me my lighter so I could effectively light my plane on fire. About fifteen minutes after getting past security and sitting down at my gate I realized Kevin wasn't coming back and I started bawling like an idiot- as per tradition. So I sad crying for about an hour looking disgusting covered in city smog and in sweatpants and a hoodie, whilst onlookers tried to avoid eye contact :/
My flight landed in Chicago after I lay comatose across my tray table for the entire flight. People in Chicago did not improve my mood. I went to get some coffee at Starbucks (and I was extremely excited that they had Pumpkin Spice Latte's again for the fall). This sweet British man ordering in front of me got totally thrown under the bus by the baristas at Starbucks. They legitimately messed up his order, to which he said very politely "Excuse me but this isn't what I ordered." It is seven o'clock in the morning. The barista replied "Too bad, you already paid for it." I must have had an aghast look on my face because the barista was a total bitch to me too. Finally I was able to get back to sleep on my flight back to Austin and was promptly picked up by my brother at the airport, what a sweety.
I went back to my dorm, took a shower and lay comatose in my bed until five in the evening. The trip was lovely, but if I had to do it again- A. I would've got a later flight, because poor Kevin looked like he was about to pass out in the airport; and B. I would not have flied via Chicago because they are all assholes.
I can't wait to see Kevin again (hopefully) at the end of October, and he can be on my turf where I have a car to pick him up and drop him off at the airport if I so chose. My weekend was wonderful and I only wish I didn't have as many tests this week.
Also, just to throw in my normal ginger flair: there is a boy on Kevin's campus from Georgia (the country not the state) who is a total ging- awesome. Further proving that gingers are natural born geniuses and a staple at tech schools such as WPI.

Thinking in Woooo-ooooostah...
So I'm in Worcester (Woooo-oooostah) this weekend visiting Kevin. Today is Friday and he has a mid term, so I am waiting in his room loyally for him to be finished :D
My sister brought to my attention a very dangerous thought in my quest to give gingers a good rep: Lindsay Lohan. At first, I thought all my good works had been ruined by this one ginger coke whore, but then I got to thinking about Lindsay. She wasn't always bad. The Parent Trap is a classic, Mean Girls is one of my favorite movies, and Confessions of a Drama Queen is KIND of entertaining. So where did it begin to go down hill? The answer is when she dyed her hair away from her natural color! Hah! I think the ginger gods are smiting her for changing her ginger ways.
I had a similar situation in my past. When I was about 15 I thought it a great idea to change my hair color from it's gorgeous red, to bleach blonde. Besides the fact that it looked absolutely terribly, my life- like my hair- seemed to go down hill as well. I won't go into details, but when my natural red finally grew back my life was back on track again and all was well.
This is just a word of advice to you gingers out there- embrace your hair color, because God will get you for changing it- just like he got Lindsay Lohan for dying her hair all those awful shades of whore. I will enjoy my time with Kevin in Massachusetts, and I suspect I won't blog again until Sunday when I get back to Austin.

Glee Season Two... a lack of cool gingers
Today was uneventful overall, with the exception of the new Glee season starting. It was a good episode, but I noticed a lack of gingers. The creeper news guy with the fro is KIND of a ginger, except he is more of a day walker. For those of you who don't watch South Park, a day walker is someone with red hair, but no freckles. I think it is the freckles that bring the sparkling personality. Also the ginger guidance counselor is pretty neat, and by neat I mean OCD, but she is really cute and likable. However, she was not in tonights episode at all, which I found disturbing.
So today I planned ALL of my outfits for visiting Kevin. They are really cute and fashionable thanks to my sister allowing me to borrow her cowboy boots, with the promise I would A. bring them back and B. keep them in impeccable condition. I promise I will, they are super cute and I wouldn't hurt them. So anyway, I was a super excellent person today and started packing my suitcase, so that I am prepared for my trip.
But other than that, I didn't do much today except go to class and CVS and Chick Fil A (I didn't get anything but my friends did because they like food) and we TRIED to go to our favorite hookah bar, BUT it was closed :(... it is upsetting. My world of ginger isn't very eventful today. Sorry.

Harry Potter (it's not what you think)
Today I watched A Very Potter Musical with my friend Tori. My love of Harry Potter is rather embarrassing, but for the purposes of this blog, I'll put my embarrassment aside just for today. Ok, so I've pretty much read every Harry Potter book like a bunch of times because I like to listen to them read by Jim Dale, I have a pretty good knowledge of the books- I like to think.
As I listen to the books, I can't help but notice how all the important characters have ties to the ginger race.
Exhibit A: The Weasleys. All very important, very bad ass, and very ginger. Ron is the protagonists side kick, he helps to defeat Voldemort, he is Hermone's love interest and he is cool. Ginny is Harry's future wife, ginger and awesome. Mrs. Weasley kills Bellatrix Lestrange- bad ass. Charlie Weasley tames dragons- bad ass. Bill Weasley is sort of a werewolf and is married to a super hot chick- neat. Fred and George provide comic relief in the books and give Harry the Marauder's Map (which is useful). Mr. Weasley is just cool. Persey is kind of a prat, but he is still vital in the books- and he is ginger, which redeems his bad qualities.
Exhibit B: Harry Potter. Sure, he is not himself a ginger, but we see in the movies that his mother, who saves his life against Voldemort, is a ginger. This means Harry and Ginny's children will undoubtedly be at least half gingers, although they don't say that in the books. Harry's best friend is a ginger (as I've already pointed out). Also, Harry's mother is really the heroine of the books. If it were not for her Snape would not be on the side of good (in the end), Harry wouldn't have survived to kill Voldemort, and pretty much the whole plot line would've been shot to hell in the first chapter.
My arguement clearly shows that J.K. Rowling has a soft spot for my people. Good for her.
Now, to redeem myself and put Kevin in the better mood. Today I could hardly pay attention in class because on Thursday I will be flying to Boston and taking a train to Wooo-oooostah (Worcester) to visit my beloved Kevin and see his beautiful smile and make him feel SOOOO special. I love him (even though he isn't ginger). He's blonde though, which means our babies would be have ginger half Aryan which makes them perfect. And super hot. *Ah* to be ginger and in love.

I was lazy last night... with good reason
I didn't post anything new last night (not like anyone follows me religiously) but I had good reason. So I'd come home to work for my mother in her flower shop because they were understaffed.
Well I suppose, before I get started on my story, I should probably explain to you what I do in the flower shop. The Blooming Idea is basically an events company on the weekends. We make flowers and decorate for weddings every weekend, sometimes six times in a weekend. During the week, usually starting about Wednesday, we start to make all the arrangements: the bouquets, the altar arrangements, the table arrangements, etc. So by Saturday we don't (usually) have any floral ART to make, we just need to deliver it. Delivering a wedding can range from the easy set up to the ridiculous. It's a lot of heavy lifting (surprisingly) and running around crazy. Then, sometimes- a lot of the time, when the ceremony is over and the guests all move to the reception to party- we have to take all of the decorations from the ceremony down. So it is a long involved process that will consume a Saturday like nobody's business.
This weekend there were only two weddings (well three but one was on Friday so it doesn't count). One was a fair size and the other was absolutely giant. Everyone in the shop worked until almost 9 PM yesterday. The wedding was at the Carlton Woods Country Club, who we regularly do business with, and the reception and ceremony were at two different club houses- the Nickolaus and the Fazio. We were literally running around like crazy people making this happen. After the ceremony we had to take four arrangements over to the Fazio for the reception- easy you say? Well the arrangements were each on a candelabra weighing so much that two people had to carry each candelabra. The moral of the story is, I was far too tired to do anything last night.
I actually feel a little bad, Blake and Chelsea were trying to guilt trip me for saying I felt too tired to see them last night and I kind of exploded... but not really- and it felt good no matter how mean it was. I drank a couple beers and fell asleep on the couch watching Lord of the Rings by like 11.
Lord of the Rings tends to send me into narcoleptic fits, kind of like drinking a lot of cough medicine. A lot of movies do that though. There aren't really a lot of gingers in the movie- maybe that's why I can't stay awake for it. Maybe Sam is a ginger- I usually asleep before Sam makes his appearance anyway. I think there may be a ginger Elf- but I am DEFINITELY asleep before she makes her appearance.
My weekend may have been hard work, but it was worth it because I got paid and now I have enough money to get my train ticket from Boston to Wooo-oooostah on Thursday :D I can't wait- less than a week before I leave !!

Strong Gingers Throughout History
So today, after going to work and having a delicious dinner with my parents. Me and my good friend Mark went to see a movie. We went to see Easy A.
The movie wasn't exactly a hit, it had it's moments of pure hilarity- but overall it just dragged a bit and was not anything special. The lead character, as many of you may have seen from commercials, was a ginger. Sure this might be a stretch but, her heroic role as a high school harlot brought into my mind other strong leading gingers in the history of the world.
Let us begin with the Vikings. Notably fierce and red haired, they conquered many lands. Truly the first explorers, Vikings discovered wonderous lands (like Iceland and Greenland), Alexander Skarsgard's character on True Blood, Eric, is a Viking. However, my knowledge of Viking history is limited- all I know is they were ginger and they were bad asses. So lets move on.
Henry VIII- ginger. He is on Mrs. Parks 10 Most Important People in History list (from last year in AP Euro). He was also a bad ass, much like the Vikings and myself. And super ginger, but fat- his downfall. He changed the whole of Europe by separating from the Catholic church.... or something. Also, he married tons of women (PIMP), and if you see his character portrayed on Tudors, he is really attractive (and surprisingly fit).
And my last case of strong leading gingers: Queen Elizabeth I. Unlike her sister "Bloody" Mary (not ginger) Queen Elizabeth was pretty much awesome. She took down the Spanish Armada- neat. She endorsed Shakespeare. Essentially, the domination of England and therefore the colonization of America and their further domination (and the awesomeness that is William Shakespeare) can be attributed to gingers.
In closing, I would like to argue that gingers are the root of all of history. I think recent hatred of my people is rooted in the jealousy of knowing gingers are few and far between, and most people can't compete with us. I'm sorry if you can't be like us. *sigh* It's been a good day.

Going Home
Today is Chris's 19th Birthday. He is old and fabulous, but more importantly- he can purchase me tobacco when we go on our road trip to Alaska!! I'm pretty excited about it. I was a little sad, because I missed out on helping to make Chris's birthday cake. I left early to see my parents.
This morning I went to class like every other day. Plus: My last class of the day (Texas- I mean American- History) was cancelled. So I decided I could drive home tonight because I don't have Friday classes. I'm going home again this weekend so I can work in my mother's flower shop and make some extra money. It should be good.
I'm driving and driving and driving... Finally I arrive, and what do I find? Not my home at all. My parents have turned my home into a show home. It's disgusting. My old bedroom is now a "craft" room, whatever that means. Pretty much my mom turned it into her closet. There are shelves of shit, a couch and dozens of pictures of my sister and her family. Disgusted? Me too. Not that my sister's family isn't gorgeous, but they don't have that ginger flair (none of them are ginger). The cool thing though is that my parents made an awesome theater room that is really neat. Very ginger.
I'm getting really excited because in exactly one week I will be in Woooo-oooostah with my boyfriend (who went to the gym today). I'm so glad it is the weekend so that I can get less sick and think about Kevin and how much fun we are going to have in Woooo-oooostah together. For now I'm just going to have be content watching Weeds on my parents couch.
Quote of the day: "If you were a lesbian ginger- you would be unstoppable"

Thanks Chirs. Happy Birthday!!

Natural Born Leaders
So I've decided to make my blog less about how pathetic I am and more about how awesome it is to be a ginger. Gingers are constantly making an impact in the world. Just today, me and my two gay boyfriends (Blake and Chris) went to go be fatties (or me and Blake rather) and buy pecan pie, when what caught our eye but a photograph of recent Leadership Award Recipients. Guess what?? Two out of five leaders are gingers. Amazing, I know.
Now I know what your thinking- having pale skin is a huge sacrifice to make just to be a leader. But to be honest, I have grown to love my pastey complexion. First of all, it has never stopped me from landing boys. For example: my boyfriend is tan and gorgeous (and allergic to freckles) but we can put our racial differences aside so we can share each other's love. I think that overcoming sunburns is a little sacrifice in the name of man kind. We may have to wear SPF 85, but we over come that just so that we can pave the way for other people who are struggling to follow in our foot steps.
More good news: I'm not sick (so much) today. Yay cough medicine!! ALSO, today I officially beat my boyfriends high score on Fall Down (my score is 285 and Kevin's in 284). Another great accomplishment by a ginger. sigh We'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Sick, sick sick...
So today started of terribly. I wake up, look at the clock- my alarm has gone off about an hour ago and I have exactly 8 minutes to get to class. Oh dear... So I brush my teeth and jet on over to class- but this is where it starts to look up- my class is cancelled!! So I stumbled my way, sleepily, back to my dorm room to go back to bed. This time I set a new alarm to wake me up an hour before my next class (which starts at 12:30), and sleep through my alarm AGAIN. Luckily, I only slept through like fifteen minutes.
At this point, I'm not feeling so great. Chris (my best gay friend's boyfriend, a.k.a. my second best gay friend who likes to call me soulless ginger) has already come by my room to force feed me Theraflu and Airborne, which I am very thankful for. So I drag myself to possibly my worst class, my Freshman Studies class, and try to keep my eyes open while my professor strolls around the room pretentiously, ranting about how Japanese people are the best- whatever. Anyway, after that horrendous experience St. Edward's likes to call "Swords, Silk and Silicon," I wander back up to my dorm room and try to sit at my desk and not day dream about the wonderful sleep I could be enjoying. Thanks to Blake (my best gay friend) I was able to stay awake and make it in time to my American History class at 3:30.
Now I say American History, but really my class is Texas History. As I predicted, my professor bypasses that whole "Revolutionary War" thing and skipped straight from the Spanish missions in San Antonio to the settling of Texas by Stephen F. Austin. I almost died. But now I am back in my room, wondering if the expiration date on my cough medicine is legitimate, and if you can really die off of one small dose of expired cough medicine anyway.

True Blood Season 3 Finale
*Spoiler Alert* IT WAS TERRIBLE!!
Uhm... ok I was happy Eric survived and the best vampire (the ginger one) got her man. But seriously the ending was horrendous. I can't believe what this show has become. I don't think I'll watch next season- the ending of the episode was just horrible. I wish they would just make it like the first season, but keep Eric's new haircut, because it's super sexy (just like my boyfriend).
I know, I feel like a nerd right now, but I was upset, and my new blog seemed a wonderful place to complain. :D

September 13, 2010
Let me introduce myself. I am Fiona and I currently go to university in Austin. I am dating a sexy German named Kevin. We are currently trying the long distance thing- it sucks hard. My life is not particularly exciting, but I have some fun adventures once and a while. Today, however, I experienced no adventures.
So, let's get to my day. I got up and went to class. It was alright, I only have three classes on Mondays. I go from 1 to 3 and have another class late in the day so I end up not being finished until about 7. In my large break I did something I've never done before- painted my nails hot pink. I don't know how I feel about it, it makes my fingers look a little pink all together, as I am ginger and have red undertones in my complexion. So most exciting thing so far: painting my nails pink- sick.
Plans for later: Watching the True Blood Season 3 finale. I know what you must be thinking- True Blood? This girl a freak and into vampires. - If you've never seen the show then you cannot possibly comprehend the entertainment value in the fabulousness of Alexander SkarsgÄrd, who is possibly the sexiest man alive- with exception of my Kevin (psht).
So Mondays are pretty much no fun for me. My saving grace is I don't have class of Friday (ever) so only three days left before the weekend!!
